Dear Parents and Carers,
A very warm welcome back to all our old and new families! We hope you have enjoyed a restful break and are ready for an exciting and successful year ahead.
It has been wonderful to welcome the children back to school, and we would like to say a huge thank you to all of our children for settling in so beautifully. It has been lovely to see them reconnect with friends, embrace routines and begin the new school year with such enthusiasm.
We have lots to look forward to this term, this week we have been Mastering Me, the children have had opportunities to explore themselves, their strengths and what makes them unique. We are also excited to have enjoyed team building archery sessions, offering the children a fantastic opportunity to develop focus, resilience and confidence.
Our Mosaic Virtues art project has been running this week- look out for these later in the newsletter, the project has helped us to celebrate and develop the qualities that make our school community so special. Thank you to children in Vrindavan who completed the design for the mosaics. Every adult in the school has laid a tile – helping us remember we are part of a bigger school community.
We are also delighted that our library has been beautifully painted, creating a fresh and inviting space for the children to enjoy books, discover new stories and nurture their love of reading, two reading corners have been created so children can continue to love books.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We are looking forward to a fantastic year filled with learning, growth, laughter and wonderful memories.

Important Reminder: Parking & Drop-Off
A reminder to all families that we share our driveway and site with St Paul's, and it is essential that we respect their staff, parents and allocated parking spaces.
Under no circumstances should parents/carers park in St Paul's spaces. These are clearly signposted and marked with cones. Please do not move or drive around the cones.
No vehicles should be parked on the school site unless you have a permit issued by KAPS. This also means please do not drive onto the site to drop your child off and ask them to walk in. This causes significant difficulties for St Paul's staff accessing their site.
Please use Spencefield Lane for drop-off and collection.
Thank you for helping us maintain a positive relationship with our neighbours and keeping the site safe and accessible for everyone.
Magical Moments
Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Krishna Avanti is all about.
We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!
Reception | Our Reception children have settled in extremely well. They had a fantastic time trying their hand at archery! Lots of fun, focus and fabulous aiming!

Year 1 | Year 1 have been busy creating ‘Class Charters’ by thinking about which Rights and Respecting articles are important to them.

Year 2 | This week in Year 2, we have been mark making on different textures using black and white paint. We explored different marks like swirls, stippling, dots, waves, cross-hatch and so on.

Year 3 | In the first week back, Year 3 have been discussing the various rights they have. They then chose some rights that they felt passionate about, which we have included in our class charter.

Year 4 | Year 4 have been engaged in our first unit in Art, focusing on still-life compositions and drawings.

Year 5 have been working hard all week – settling into their new routines and expectations. We have said ‘Goodbye’ to Miss Hindocha too, who has been a member of the KAPS team for over three years. The children all prepared a little something for her to remember them by! |   |

Celebrating KAPS
Krishna Avanti’s 15th year celebrations
As part of Krishna Avanti’s 15th year celebrations, the children have been getting creative and designing beautiful mosaics to celebrate this special milestone.
They have enjoyed exploring patterns, colours and designs while working together to create pieces of artwork that reflect our school community. The finished mosaics will be proudly displayed around school for everyone to enjoy.

This term, our children have the exciting opportunity to take on pupil leadership roles across the school. These roles will allow them to develop confidence, responsibility and leadership skills while making a positive contribution to our school community.

📚 Developing Our Reading Provision
We are continuing to develop our reading provision across school, with a particular focus on fostering a genuine love of reading and encouraging children to read for pleasure.
We are excited to be developing our Book Nook, creating a welcoming and inviting space where children can discover new books, explore different genres and authors and simply enjoy getting lost in a good story. We want reading to feel like something children choose to do because they love it, not just something they do because they have to.
Over the coming weeks, we will be adding new books and resources to the Book Nook and working with our children to help shape it into a space that reflects their interests and encourages them to become enthusiastic, lifelong readers.
We look forward to sharing the Book Nook with you as it develops! 📖✨
Archery opportunity
What a fantastic start to the new term! The children enjoyed a fun and exciting archery session, giving them the opportunity to try something new, build confidence and, most importantly, have fun together.
It was a lovely way to help everyone settle back into school, reconnect with friends and start the new term with plenty of enthusiasm and smiles!

Each week, we celebrate a pupil who truly embodies the values of the Avanti Way—whether it’s showing compassion, demonstrating self-discipline, striving for excellence, or fostering spiritual insight. Rights Respecting at Home: Article of the Week
At Krishna Avanti Primary School, we are committed to promoting and upholding the rights of every child. It is important that children understand their rights because it helps them to feel valued, safe, and empowered to reach their full potential.
Rights Respecting Article of the week:
Article 29 – Goals of Education
Every child has the right to an education that helps them develop their personality, talents and abilities to their fullest potential. Education should also encourage children to respect other people, their rights, cultures and the world around them.
Why it matters: Article 29 reminds us that education is about more than learning facts. It helps children discover what they are good at, build confidence, develop their talents and learn how to respect and care for others. In a Rights Respecting School, we encourage every child to be themselves, try new things and reach their full potential.
At home activity:
Talk to your child about their strengths, talents and the things they enjoy learning. Ask them to choose something they would like to get better at and think of one small goal they could work towards together. You could also discuss how learning helps us understand and respect other people and the world around us.
