Parent's Bulletin 16 .10.2026
Head of Primary's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we come to the end of the half term, I wanted to take a moment to share how incredibly proud I am of all our pupils. This has been a busy ½ term with many events, trips, chances to join learning, parent's consultations, NFER testing and a residential for Y5.
This week’s Diwali celebrations have been a particularly joyful way to bring our school community together. The children participated with enthusiasm and respect, deepening their understanding of the festival and its message of light, hope and goodness. Such experiences bring the Avanti Way to life, connecting educational excellence with character formation and spiritual insight. We hope that as parents, you enjoyed the collaboration this year between year groups and the quizzes in the middle and not to forget Mr Crowe’s amazing piano playing in the Y3 and Y6 performances. We were delighted to welcome so many parents join in with our celebrations. As Lord Krishna teaches in the Bhagavad Gita:
“Whatever action is performed by a great person, others follow; whatever standards they set, the world pursues.” — Bhagavad Gita 3.21
We see this reflected in the everyday choices our pupils make: offering a helping hand, persevering with a challenge or showing kindness to someone who needs it. These small acts set a positive example and make a meaningful difference to our school community.
I wish you all a happy, peaceful and restful half-term holiday. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for another exciting half term.
With best wishes
Mrs. Dolby - Molson
Important Reminder : Secondary School Admissions
Current Y6 parents
If your child is due to start at secondary school from August 2027, it's time to apply for a secondary school place. Applications can be made online at School admissions | Leicester City Council and will need to be submitted by no later than 31 October 2026. If you apply after this date, your application will be considered as late, and you may lose out on your choice of school.
Please take the time to read the information provided on the admissions website as you can find details of all schools along with other important information including your catchment school.
You may prefer for your child to attend a school outside of your catchment area and you have the right to list any secondary schools on your application. However, we strongly recommend that you use all four preferences available to you and include your catchment area school in your application. You will receive priority for a place there and it means that you increase your chances of securing a place at a local school if all of your higher preferred schools are full.
Magical Moments
Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Krishna Avanti is all about.
We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!

DIWALI CELEBRATIONS

This week, the children have been celebrating Diwali through a range of exciting classroom activities and by taking part in their special Diwali performances for parents. It has been wonderful to see their enthusiasm, creativity and confidence as they learnt more about the festival and shared their learning with others. Thank you to all our parents for your support and for joining us to celebrate this special occasion. We hope you enjoyed the performances as much as the children enjoyed preparing for them!
HARVEST GRATITUDE

A huge thank you to all parents for the generous contributions of food items. Your kindness and support are greatly appreciated, and we are very grateful for your generosity. Thank you for helping to make our harvest celebrations so special!
