What to do if you have a concern about your child’s learning/well-being?
1 - Make an appointment with your child’s class teacher or form tutor.
2 - The teacher/form tutor will give you a clear picture of how your child presents in school and discuss possible next steps.
3 - Your child may be part of an intervention group to support their needs.
4 - If your child has responded and shown progress then no further action will be taken.
5 - If little or no impact has been made, your child may be put on the SEND register and additional SEND support may be given where appropriate.
6 - The cycle of “Assess, Plan, Do, Review” will continue to support your child’s needs.
Please contact us and we can work together to resolve any issues which may be worrying you or your child. To make an appointment, please contact reception or email our SENCo, Anna Carrillo, on the details below:

The school Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENCo) is Mrs Carrillo. For any queries, please use the Contact Form below and select Special Educational Needs and our SENCo will get back to you as soon as possible. If the Class Teacher is the correct person at this point, please select Class Teacher and then your child’s class.
If your child is already at the school, the first point of call should be the child’s class teacher who can liaise with the SENCo for you. Where external agencies are involved, the SENCo may be better placed to help and will be happy to do so. The class teacher will be available for quick updates each day but where more time is needed, an appointment can be made with the SENCo.

Reimagining the purpose of education
What we offer at Krishna Avanti
At Avanti Meadows Primary, we encourage and support every child during each step of their educational journey. However, we recognise that many students during their time at school experience difficulties, we are committed to enabling each student to grow and develop to reach their full potential.
Krishna Avanti Primary School is a fully inclusive Hindu faith mainstream school that admits pupils from 4 years old up to 11 years. We aim to ensure that all pupils achieve their potential, personally, socially, emotionally and academically in all areas of the curriculum (regardless of their gender, ethnicity, social background, religion, sexual identity, physical ability or educational needs).
