Head of Primary's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

This week our Y5 pupils have enjoyed a residential visit to the Isle of Wight- thank you to Mrs Adams, Miss Odedra, Mrs Lehal and Mr Williams who have given up their time and been with the children for the week. They have enjoyed amazing weather to be outside and adventurous. We hope Y5 parents have enjoyed looking at twitter to see what they have been doing.

Our Y6’s have also been to Beaumanor, also enjoyed some outdoor and adventurous activities.  Thank you to Mrs Tucker, Mr Broderick and Mr Jackson for their support with this trip.

This week, pupils in Years 1–4 started completing their Autumn Reading and Maths assessments. These tests help us understand how children are progressing and celebrate the knowledge they’ve gained. The also allow us to know where the gaps are so we can support.

Next week there is a chance to meet the teachers at Parents Evening and see how your child has settled into learning. By working together in partnership, we can support every child’s learning.

You can help at home by sharing daily reading, discussing new vocabulary, encouraging children to explain their thinking, and practising number facts or times tables in short, regular bursts. There are many opportunities to join in with learning in the coming months as well.

Thank you for your continued support.

With best wishes

Mrs. Dolby - Molson

Important Reminder : Secondary School Admissions

Current Y6 parents

If your child is due to start at secondary school from August 2027, it's time to apply for a secondary school place. Applications can be made online at School admissions | Leicester City Council and will need to be submitted by no later than 31 October 2026.  If you apply after this date, your application will be considered as late, and you may lose out on your choice of school.

Please take the time to read the information provided on the admissions website as you can find details of all schools along with other important information including your catchment school.

You may prefer for your child to attend a school outside of your catchment area and you have the right to list any secondary schools on your application. However, we strongly recommend that you use all four preferences available to you and include your catchment area school in your application.  You will receive priority for a place there and it means that you increase your chances of securing a place at a local school if all of your higher preferred schools are full.

 Magical Moments

Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Krishna Avanti is all about.

We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!

Star of the week

Each week, we celebrate a pupil who truly embodies the values of the Avanti Way—whether it’s showing compassion, demonstrating self-discipline, striving for excellence, or fostering spiritual insight. This recognition is more than just good work—it's about living our values and inspiring others to do the same.

Well done to this week’s star for shining brightly and setting a wonderful example for us all!
