📢 Reminder: EYSF children collection

Dear Parents/Carers,

When collecting your child from EYFS, we kindly ask that you keep the entrance to the gate clear. Please form a line along the wooden fence to help us dismiss the children safely and smoothly.

We also request that you avoid crowding around the entrance, as this can make it difficult for children to see and reach their adult. Your cooperation helps us ensure a safe and calm dismissal for everyone.

Thank you very much for your support.

Magical Moments

Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Krishna Avanti is all about.

We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!

Reception

This week the children in reception loved exploring The Gruffalo. They brought the story to life outdoors by going on a Gruffalo trail with the bikes. It was full of adventure, imagination and fun.

Year 1

Year 1 have been learning how to order objects to 10. They ordered their cubes from smallest to biggest and biggest to smallest.

ree

Year 2

Year 2 have started learning about wheels and axles as part of our mechanisms unit in D&T. The children joined wheels to a rod before drawing and explaining the technical vocabulary.

ree

Year 3

Year 3 have started learning the basics of touch typing in computing.  They are also busy learning how to play notes on the recorder and are practicing for the Diwali play.

ree

Year 4

Year 4 have completed their DT unit on Food and Nutrition. The children made a healthy vegetable soup and pizza buns, exploring how to make tasty meals with nutritious ingredients.

ree

Year 5

To ensure children are getting all the information regarding upcoming events and adventures, year 5 have been holding their morning worship collectively. This has been a beautiful time of prayers, unity and empathy, showing excellent Avanti Way values. The children have sounded so united and serene, that their worship has forced other adults who hear it to come and join our collective worship.

Year 6

Year 6 had an amazing week of Bikeability, learning important road safety skills and building confidence on their bikes.

Star of the week

Each week, we celebrate a pupil who truly embodies the values of the Avanti Way—whether it’s showing compassion, demonstrating self-discipline, striving for excellence, or fostering spiritual insight. This recognition is more than just good work—it's about living our values and inspiring others to do the same.

Well done to this week’s star for shining brightly and setting a wonderful example for us all!

Rights Respecting at Home: Article of the Week

At Krishna Avanti Primary School, we are committed to promoting and upholding the rights of every child. It is important that children understand their rights because it helps them to feel valued, safe, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Article 30: Every Child Has the Right to Enjoy Their Own Culture, Language, and Religion Celebrating My Culture

Talk with your child about your family’s culture, traditions, language, or religion. Share stories, songs, or memories that show what makes your culture special. Together, make a list of things that represent your heritage—such as food, festivals, clothing, or celebrations.

Encourage your child to create a poster or scrapbook page titled “My Culture, My Identity.” They could add drawings, photos, or decorations that show the traditions and values they are proud of.

This activity helps children feel proud of who they are, respect their heritage, and recognise that every child has the right to celebrate their culture and beliefs.

Parents Evening- 6th and 8th October

Upcoming Parents’ Evening – Early Connection, Strong Start

At Krishna Avanti, we believe that strong partnerships between school and home set the foundation for a successful year. That’s why we hold our first Parents’ Evening early in the academic year—to give you the opportunity to:

  • Get to know your child’s class teacher

  • Understand how your child has settled into their new year group

  • Receive practical guidance on how to support their learning at home

Each appointment will last no longer than 10 minutes to ensure fairness and equal time for all families.

During your meeting, the teacher will share:

  • How your child has progressed since the last report or meeting

  • What we’ve noticed they’re excelling in—both academically and personally

  • Their next steps, and how you can support these areas effectively at home

We encourage all parents to attend, as early collaboration helps set the tone for a positive and productive year ahead.

Please book your slot via Arbor.

Could you help out at school ?

We are always on the lookout for parents who could support the school and give up some of their time. We really appreciate the extra support to be able to offer our children new opportunities. Whatever time you can offer it all counts.

 We are currently looking for:

Parents who would be able to support once a month on a Friday with our uniform swap from 2.30 - 2.55pm.

Parents who are interested in running an after-school chess club from January 2026 to Easter 2026 this would be weekly. We already have 1 parent volunteer but could do with another to allow us to run the chess club for children in Y3-Y6. You just need a passion to play and teach chess to children.

Any parents who would be able to support breakfast club this is from 7.30 to 8am daily.

If you are interested and can support, please do contact Mrs DM at school on rebecca.dolby-molson@avanti.org.uk who will arrange for all the necessary checks to be completed.
