Head of Primary's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
We are delighted to welcome everyone back for the Spring 2 term and hope you all had a restful break.
This term promises to be another fun-filled and enriching one, with education brought to life through visitors, storytellers, themed drop-down days and, for some year groups, even an exciting trip. These experiences play such an important role in deepening children’s understanding and making learning memorable.
I would like to thank all parents in advance for your continued engagement and support with these events. It is this hands-on learning, supported both at school and at home, that truly helps embed knowledge and create lifelong memories for our children.
We look forward to a fantastic term ahead!
Looking Ahead: Special Events Next Week
Next week we will be celebrating Gaura Purnima alongside Reading Week. As these special events fall within the same week, there will be two dress-up days:
3rd March – Gaura Purnima celebration and dress up
5th March – World Book Day – dress up as your favourite book character
There will also be various opportunities for parents to engage with events during the week.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support in ensuring our events run smoothly for everyone.
Staff Updates
I am writing to inform you that Mrs Ali will be leaving us on 27th March 2026 to take up a new post at another school.
This decision has not been reached lightly. We are incredibly grateful for the dedication, care and commitment Mrs Ali has shown during her seven years at Krishna Avanti School. She has made a significant contribution to our school community, and we thank her sincerely for all that she has given to our children and families. We wish her every success and happiness in her new role and future adventures.
Mrs Ali will be leaving to pursue new professional opportunities and explore new areas of professional growth. While we are naturally sad to see her go, we fully respect and support her decision.
Looking ahead, I am pleased to inform you that Mrs Kapoor will be joining the school after the Easter break and will work alongside Mrs Dullabh to teach Vrindavan Class. Our Year 6 children will have the opportunity to meet Mrs Kapoor later this half term when she visits the school. Mrs Dullabh will also be closely supporting the transition to ensure consistency and stability for the class.
As always, our priority is to ensure that the children experience a smooth and positive transition. We will continue to keep you updated and thank you for your ongoing support
Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support in ensuring our events run smoothly for everyone.
Warm regards,
Mrs Dolby- Molson

Mental Health Team
Dear Parents,
The mental health team supports in our school. Please see the enclosed information. Should you wish your child to be referred to the team, then please contact either Mrs B Patel or Mrs DM at school who are able to make the referral after meeting with you.
This is My Place
💛 - Mental Health Week - “This Is My Place”
W/C 9th February 2026, for YRS 3 / 6 we explored Children’s Mental Health Week and the theme “This Is My Place.” Throughout the week, children took part in discussions and activities focused on belonging, feeling safe, and understanding that they are valued members of our school community. Moving forward we want to continue to have these important conversations, encouraging children to reflect on where they feel they belong and how we can all help nurture positive emotional wellbeing at home and at school.
Parents! Having small conversations like the one’s below, can make a big difference to children’s confidence and wellbeing.
· 💬 Having a daily 5-minute check-in: What made you smile today? Was anything tricky?
🏡 Giving your child a small responsibility to help them feel part of the family team.
🌟 Noticing and naming their strengths (kindness, effort, creativity).
❤️ Reminding them who their safe adults are at home and at school.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership — it truly makes a difference in helping us create a positive and nurturing environment for our children.
Kind regards
Mrs B Patel

PSHE- Rights and Responsibilities
This half-term, our PSHE unit is Rights and Responsibilities
In this unit children are introduced to the idea of rights. They learn about their rights as well as the rights of others, and the responsibilities that come with being part of a community. Lessons may include caring for the environment, understanding fairness, and learning about respect for rules.
Parent prompt: What does it mean to be responsible at home or at school?
Discussion question: Can you think of a time when you helped out (at home, school or with friends) - how did you show responsibility?
Thank you!
Enrichment Experiences – £15.00 Contribution
We have planned a number of special enrichment experiences for the children this year: visits to the temple and a fun-filled pantomime experience, archery sessions, PSHE workshops from Coram scarf and further events. These opportunities are designed to broaden the children’s understanding of the world around them, spark curiosity, and, of course, create some wonderful memories along the way.
To help cover transport, and activity costs, we kindly ask for a £15.00 donation per child for the year. Your support makes it possible for us to offer these meaningful and exciting experiences, and we are always so grateful for the generosity of our families.
The payments will be open on Arbor from 23rd January at 4.00pm to the 20th March 4:00pm.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership. If you have any questions or would like to discuss this further, please don’t hesitate to speak to a member of the team. We’re really looking forward to sharing these special days with the children.
Without the donations we may need to scale back what we can offer to our children.
Star of the week
Each week, we celebrate a pupil who truly embodies the values of the Avanti Way—whether it’s showing compassion, demonstrating self-discipline, striving for excellence, or fostering spiritual insight. This recognition is more than just good work—it's about living our values and inspiring others to do the same.
Well done to this week’s star for shining brightly and setting a wonderful example for us all!

Rights Respecting at Home: Article of the Week
At Krishna Avanti Primary School, we are committed to promoting and upholding the rights of every child. It is important that children understand their rights because it helps them to feel valued, safe, and empowered to reach their full potential.
Rights Respecting School information
Rights Respecting Article of the week:
🌸 International Women’s Day – Article 2: Non-Discrimination
Every child has the same rights, no matter who they are, where they come from, what they believe, or whether they are a boy or a girl.
International Women’s Day helps us reflect on fairness, equality, and respect, celebrating the achievements of women while recognising the importance of equal opportunities for all.
Why it matters:
Everyone deserves to be treated fairly
Girls and boys should have the same opportunities
Respecting differences makes our communities stronger
At-home activity:
Talk together about inspirational women in your family, community, or history. Children could draw or write about a woman who inspires them and explain why.
