Executive Principal's Message

The Autumn Term has begun beautifully for our primary pupils. It has been a smooth start, full of warmth, positivity, and a clear focus on maintaining strong routines and nurturing connections between children and staff. From the staggered start that allowed our Reception teachers to get to know their new pupils closely, to welcoming new staff, it has been wonderful to see our community continue to grow. It has been lovely watching Ms Dolby-Molson and Miss Hartley settle into our school and begin leading with the Avanti virtues; they have already made such a positive impact to our school. It was wonderful to also observe the special yagna we held to welcome our newest pupils to their educational journey.

It was a pleasure to welcome parents to the first of our three Parent-Teacher Evenings. These evenings offer valuable opportunities to celebrate each child’s learning journey, character development, and personal and spiritual growth. We have also enjoyed hosting our the EYFS dental workshop, Reception reading workshop, and Year 1 PSC and Reading workshop – all well attended and full of enthusiasm for supporting children’s learning at home and school.

A highlight this term was our vibrant and successful Primary Open Day. The turnout was exceptional, and we anticipate another year of oversubscribed applications — a true reflection of the dedication and excellence of our staff and children. The event was a real team effort, and I extend heartfelt thanks to our (secondary) student helpers, teachers, administrative team, premises and cleaning staff, and the Govinda’s catering team for making the day such a success. We will continue to host Open Morning Tours throughout the next half-term, giving prospective families a glimpse of our thriving community ahead of the Primary Admissions deadline on 15th January 2026.

Beyond the classroom, our children continue to grow in character, creativity and confidence. Both Year 6 classes attended the first of their experience events to the ISKCON temple, and also engaged in Bikeability training. For our Year 5 pupils, they attended a PGL residential to the Isle of Wight and have begun swimming as part of their PE curriculum. Year 3 are receiving specialist coaching in gymnastics as part of their PE lessons. We’ve continued to engage in city-wide sporting fixtures, achieving some excellent early results – a big well done to the teams! Our after-school clubs are in full swing and we continue to promote the Rights Respecting Award and have launched our new School Councils and Leadership Groups for the year ahead.

As the half-term draws to a close, our school has been alive with celebration and colour for Diwali. I had the joy of watching the recording of each year group’s Diwali performance earlier in the week — it was a truly touching moment, filled with confidence, joy, and excitement from our young performers. I had the pleasure of being joined by one of our SSC members for this event, as well as our Trust Education Lead. Their engagement and support of the school is appreciated.

Wishing all our pupils, families, and staff a very Happy Diwali and a restful half-term break.

Executive Principal

Magical Moments

Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Krishna Avanti is all about.

We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!

Diwali, the Festival of Lights

Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is a time to celebrate the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. It reminds us of the power of hope, unity, and kindness that shines brightest when shared with others.

Our students truly brought this spirit to life through their incredible Diwali production! Their energy, talent, and joy lit up the stage, capturing the essence of this beautiful festival. Each performance reflected dedication, teamwork, and cultural pride — leaving the audience inspired and full of festive cheer. It gets better every year!

A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful teachers and staff, whose creativity, patience, and hard work made this celebration possible. Your guidance helped our children shine, turning this event into a magical and meaningful experience for all

🧦 Celebrate Odd Socks Day – Monday 10th November! 🧦

Dear Parents,

We’re excited to celebrate Odd Socks Day on Monday 10th November! This day is all about celebrating individuality and uniqueness, and we encourage all children to come to school wearing their own odd socks – the more colourful and mismatched, the better!

To make the day even more fun, we’re hosting a Creative Odd Sock Competition! Children can design and create their very own odd sock, using colours, patterns, textures, or decorations to make it truly one-of-a-kind. Please ensure your sock is cut out ready to hang on our washing line!

Each week, we celebrate a pupil who truly embodies the values of the Avanti Way—whether it’s showing compassion, demonstrating self-discipline, striving for excellence, or fostering spiritual insight. This recognition is more than just good work—it's about living our values and inspiring others to do the same.

Well done to this week’s star for shining brightly and setting a wonderful example for us all!

Rights Respecting at Home: Article of the Week

At Krishna Avanti Primary School, we are committed to promoting and upholding the rights of every child. It is important that children understand their rights because it helps them to feel valued, safe, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Article 12: Every Child Has the Right to Have Their Say Speaking Up and Being Heard

Talk with your child about how their opinions and ideas matter, and that adults should listen to them when decisions are made that affect their life. Together, make a list of situations where they can share their thoughts—at home, in school, or with friends.

Encourage your child to create a “Voice Box”: a small box or jar where they can write or draw their thoughts, ideas, or questions on slips of paper. Set a regular time to sit together and discuss the ideas in the box.

This activity helps children understand that their opinions are important, encourages them to express themselves, and teaches that adults should listen and take their views seriously.
