Head of Primary's Message
Dear Parents/Carers,
It was truly wonderful to see so many parents at this week’s Parents’ Evening. We greatly value the opportunity to work in partnership with you as co-educators of our children. Your engagement and support play an important role in helping every child thrive both academically and personally.
We would also like to thank those parents whose appointments were affected by staff absences for their patience and understanding. Please be assured that these meetings will be rescheduled as soon as possible so that every family has the opportunity to meet with teachers and discuss their child’s progress.
As we look ahead to the coming week, we are very much looking forward to celebrating the joy and light of Diwali together. In keeping with our Avanti Way, the story of Diwali provides a chance to reflect on many of the virtues that Lord Rama embodied so gracefully: self-discipline, respect, courage, integrity, empathy, and gratitude. These enduring values continue to inspire our whole school community.
As part of our behaviour policy, we celebrate the virtues of The Avanti Way—such as respect, gratitude, self-discipline, and empathy. Pupils are awarded house points when they demonstrate these qualities in their daily lives. On Friday 7th November the winning house team will enjoy a special reward: the chance to celebrate their success with a bouncy castle—well deserved after all their efforts this term.
Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support. I wish you all a happy and inspiring week ahead.
Ms Thakore

Magical Moments
Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Krishna Avanti is all about.
We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!
Reception | The children enjoyed making paper plate divas as they learned about the Diwali story - exploring the festival of lights through creativity and fun! | ![]() |
Year 1 | Year 1 have been using circle time in PSHE to discuss the recipe of a good friendship. They talked about showing values such as empathy, gratitude and respect towards friends.
| ![]() |
Year 2 | Year 2 have enjoyed taking their learning, on the Great Fire of London, outside into the Forest School area to explore and test materials that are flammable. | ![]() |
Year 3 | Year 3 were busy in guided reading following instructions to do a magic trick. They realised that they had to read each step clearly for the trick to be successful.
| ![]() |
Year 4 | Year 4 have completed their DT unit on Food and Nutrition. The children made a healthy vegetable soup and pizza buns, exploring how to make tasty meals with nutritious ingredients. | ![]() |
Year 5 | Year 5 had an incredible time at PGL on the Isle of Wight. From kayaking to abseiling to the highs and lows of the Giant Swing and Jacob’s ladder, every activity was embraced by our children with enthusiasm and teamwork. It was amazing to see so many of the children facing their fears and finding the ‘courage’ to try new skills whilst we were away. The children that spent an Adventure week at school were able to delve into a much more synthetic, extra-curricular week which included: planning and creating their own theme park, forest school camp-fires and den building, along with various team building and bonding skills. | ![]() |
Year 6 | On Tuesday 7th October, our Y6 children visited Beaumanor. As part of their learning about world history and World War 2. They took part in an air Raid simulation, a decoding task and imagined they were code breaking at Bletchley Park, as well as what it was like to live on rations. Our Y6 children really enjoyed the day. | ![]() |

Rights Respecting at Home: Article of the Week
At Krishna Avanti Primary School, we are committed to promoting and upholding the rights of every child. It is important that children understand their rights because it helps them to feel valued, safe, and empowered to reach their full potential.
Article 12: Every Child Has the Right to Have Their Say Speaking Up and Being Heard
Talk with your child about how their opinions and ideas matter, and that adults should listen to them when decisions are made that affect their life. Together, make a list of situations where they can share their thoughts—at home, in school, or with friends.
Encourage your child to create a “Voice Box”: a small box or jar where they can write or draw their thoughts, ideas, or questions on slips of paper. Set a regular time to sit together and discuss the ideas in the box.
This activity helps children understand that their opinions are important, encourages them to express themselves, and teaches that adults should listen and take their views seriously.

Experience Events
We have planned a number of experience events this year for our children as we know how important it is. These events include sporting, culture, religious and based around developing our children personal and social skills. In order to provide these experiences, we are asking parents to make a 1 off payment of £15.00 for the whole year to cover the cost of these experiences. The payments will be going live on Arbor later today. We would ask that as parents you support us to enable us to provide this rich variety of activities.
Class trips will still continue to support children's curriculum development. Individual letters will be sent nearer the time for all trips.

A heartfelt thank you to all parents/ families for your tremendous support and generosity towards the Harvest donations.
We are truly grateful for every contribution we received. These donations will be sent to the Leicester South Food Bank,
