Head of Primary's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

Working in Partnership to Help Every Child Thrive

At Krishna Avanti, we firmly believe that the strongest outcomes for our children come when school and homework join in partnership. Thank you for your continued support in helping your child grow academically, socially and emotionally.

This year there are many opportunities to join with our learning, we do hope to see all of you over the course of the year. On Monday 7th  and Tuesday 8th September, this week we welcomed parents to join our worship. Next week we have the Y1 and Y2 phonics lessons to join. Please do look out for these events on Arbor and sign up to come and join us.  You are most welcome.

We also have parents' evenings on the 5th and 7th October - bookings for these will open tonight at 5pm.

Attendance

One of the most important ways you can support your child's success is by ensuring they attend school every day and arrive on time. Good attendance allows children to build confidence, develop positive friendships and make consistent progress in their learning. Every day in school matters and we appreciate your commitment to making attendance a priority.

Together, by working in partnership, we can ensure every child at our school has the best possible opportunities to flourish.

With best wishes

Mrs. Dolby - Molson

Important Reminder : Parking on the School Site

A polite reminder that there is no parent parking on site. All the spaces outside the gates are needed for school staff. We have over 50 members of staff who all need a space.

We ask that parents and carers please park considerately and respectfully in the local area, being mindful of residents, pedestrians, access points and local parking restrictions. Please do not park in a way that blocks driveways, causes obstruction or makes it difficult for others to access their homes.

As an Avanti community, we ask everyone to live by the Avanti Way, particularly the values of integrity and self-discipline

This means making the right choice even when it may not be the easiest or most convenient one.

Thank you for your continued support, understanding and consideration for our school and the wider community. By working together, we can ensure that arrival and collection times remain safe, calm and respectful for everyone.

 Magical Moments

Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Krishna Avanti is all about.

We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!

Reception

Reception children have been exploring the construction area outdoors. They have used their imagination to create habitats for the owls!

Year 1

In Year 1, the children have been fantastic historians! We explored how shops have changed over time, wrote some sentences to share our learning, and created wonderful drawings to show our ideas.

Year 2

Year 2 have written their first Big Write this week – a setting description. We’ve learnt about conjunctions, compound sentences and subordinate clauses! Some super writing from year 2.

Year 3

In Science, Year 3's conducted an experiment to see how chalk and limestone react to vinegar. They worked in pairs and had strong discussion around what makes an experiment fair.

Year 4

Year 4 have been enjoying reading The Queen’s Nose by Dick King-Smith. Inspired by the magical fifty-pence coin in the story, the children have chosen their own magical object and explored the special powers it could have. In English, they are now putting their persuasive writing skills to work by creating an exciting advert to convince others to buy their magical object!

Year 5

In Art, Year 5 have been exploring two artists that create artwork using completely different techniques - Frank Auerbach and Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Year 5 have erased pencil marks to create images and used bold, free shapes to represent everyday features such as trees and houses.

Year 6

Year6 visited to ISKCON temple this week

Olex AI

As a school, we use OLEX AI across Y3 to Y6. Olex.AI is an AI-powered education platform designed for schools. It helps teachers mark and assess students' writing much faster by analysing essays, generating feedback, and providing class-wide insights. Teachers in our school use it to support learning and provide individual feedback to children on their writing. It can be shared with parents at parents evening to help parents support at home.  Teachers upload work with no names to the Olex site. We used Olex AI last year and piloted it for the trust with incredibly successful results.

Parents evening

We are pleased to confirm that our Parents' Evening sessions will take place on Monday 5th October, Wednesday 7th October and for Dwarka class only  Thursday 8th October.

Please see the dates and times below:

  • Monday 5th October: Reception to Year 6 — 2:40pm–5:30pm

  • Thursday 8th October: Year 5 Dwarka Class only — 8:00am–9:00am

Booking Information

All Parents' Evening appointments must be booked through Arbor.

Registration will open on Friday 11th September at 5:00pm and will close on Friday 25th September at 5:00pm.

Please ensure that you make your booking before the registration deadline. Unfortunately, we will not be able to accept any bookings once registration has closed.

We look forward to welcoming you and providing an opportunity to discuss your child's progress and learning.

School Council message:

Please could the school councillors for each class bring in an empty shoebox next Thursday 17th September so that we can create class suggestion boxes in our meeting on that day. Thank you.

Star of the week

Each week, we celebrate a pupil who truly embodies the values of the Avanti Way—whether it’s showing compassion, demonstrating self-discipline, striving for excellence, or fostering spiritual insight. This recognition is more than just good work—it's about living our values and inspiring others to do the same.

Well done to this week’s star for shining brightly and setting a wonderful example for us all!
