Head of Primary's Message
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We hope you all had a restful and enjoyable half-term break. It has been wonderful to see the children return this week, settled, happy, and eager to share their lovely stories from the holiday – it has truly been a joy to hear about all their adventures!
As we begin this crucial half term, we want to remind parents how important attendance is. Every day in school counts towards your child’s learning and progress, and your support in ensuring they are here and ready to learn is invaluable.
At Avanti, we believe in working in partnership with our families as part of The Avanti Way, and together we can ensure our children thrive both academically and personally. Let’s make this half term a positive and successful one!
Warm regards,
Ms. A Thakore
Magical Moments
Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Krishna Avanti is all about.
We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!

In their writing, pupils are continuing to explore narratives inspired by the book, focusing on description and dialogue that reveals character and advances the plot. | ![]() |
Year 6 | Year 6 have begun reading Rooftoppers by Katherine Rundell in Guided Reading, an exciting adventure set high above the streets of Paris. In English, they are using the story as inspiration to create persuasive leaflets encouraging people to visit the city. To support their writing, the children explored Paris through their five senses, imagining what it would be like to walk its streets. | ![]() |
🧦 Odd Socks Day – Monday 10th November 🧦
Odd Socks Day, part of Anti-Bullying Week, is coming up on Monday 10th November! This day celebrates individuality and uniqueness, reflecting the values of The Avanti Way, and encourages children to embrace what makes them special. We invite all children to come to school wearing odd socks – the more colourful and mismatched, the better!
To make the day even more fun, we’re hosting a Creative Odd Sock Competition. Children can design and create their very own odd sock using colours, patterns, textures, or decorations. Please ensure your sock is cut out and ready to hang on our washing line.
Competition Details:
When to Bring Entries: Monday 10th November
Where to Submit: Hand your completed odd sock to your class teacher
Important: Each entry must have the child’s name, class, and year group clearly marked
Prizes: Fun awards for the most creative, colourful, and unique designs!
This is a wonderful opportunity for children to express themselves, celebrate what makes them unique, and have fun, all while promoting kindness and inclusion – key principles of Anti-Bullying Week and The Avanti Way.

We can’t wait to see all the amazing, odd socks and creative designs!
Star of the week
Each week, we celebrate a pupil who truly embodies the values of the Avanti Way—whether it’s showing compassion, demonstrating self-discipline, striving for excellence, or fostering spiritual insight. This recognition is more than just good work—it's about living our values and inspiring others to do the same.
Well done to this week’s star for shining brightly and setting a wonderful example for us all!

Rights Respecting at Home: Article of the Week
At Krishna Avanti Primary School, we are committed to promoting and upholding the rights of every child. It is important that children understand their rights because it helps them to feel valued, safe, and empowered to reach their full potential.
Rights Respecting School information
🌺 Rights Respecting Article of the Week – Article 38: Protection from War
Every child has the right to be protected from war and fighting. Governments must keep children safe so they can grow up in peace, surrounded by love and care.
This links to Remembrance Day, when we honour those who have worked — and still work — to protect others and help make the world peaceful.
Why it matters:
Some children still live in places affected by war.
Remembering helps us value peace and safety.
It teaches empathy, gratitude, and kindness.
At-home activity: 🎨 Create a Peace Poppy or Wreath using paper or recycled materials. Talk about what peace means to your family and write one peaceful action on each poppy — for example, “Be kind,” “Share,” or “Listen to others.”
