Parent's Bulletin 03.10.2025

Head of Primary's Message

Dear Parents/Carers,

Parents Evening- 6th and 8th October

Upcoming Parents’ Evening – Early Connection, Strong Start

At Krishna Avanti, we believe that strong partnerships between school and home set the foundation for a successful year. That’s why we hold our first Parents’ Evening early in the academic year—to give you the opportunity to:

  • Get to know your child’s class teacher

  • Understand how your child has settled into their new year group

  • Receive practical guidance on how to support their learning at home

Each appointment will last no longer than 10 minutes to ensure fairness and equal time for all families.

During your meeting, the teacher will share:

  • How your child has progressed since the last report or meeting

  • What we’ve noticed they’re excelling in—both academically and personally

  • Their next steps, and how you can support these areas effectively at home

We encourage all parents to attend, as early collaboration helps set the tone for a positive and productive year ahead.

📢 Reminder: EYSF children collection

Dear Parents/Carers,

When collecting your child from EYFS, we kindly ask that you keep the entrance to the gate clear. Please form a line along the wooden fence to help us dismiss the children safely and smoothly.

We also request that you avoid crowding around the entrance, as this can make it difficult for children to see and reach their adult. Your cooperation helps us ensure a safe and calm dismissal for everyone.

Thank you very much for your support.

Magical Moments

Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Krishna Avanti is all about.

We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!

Star of the week

Each week, we celebrate a pupil who truly embodies the values of the Avanti Way—whether it’s showing compassion, demonstrating self-discipline, striving for excellence, or fostering spiritual insight. This recognition is more than just good work—it's about living our values and inspiring others to do the same.

Well done to this week’s star for shining brightly and setting a wonderful example for us all!

Rights Respecting at Home: Article of the Week

At Krishna Avanti Primary School, we are committed to promoting and upholding the rights of every child. It is important that children understand their rights because it helps them to feel valued, safe, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Article 27: Every Child Has the Right to a Good Standard of Living Harvest and Sharing Food

Talk with your child about how harvests provide the food we eat and how it’s important that all children have enough to eat. Together, take a walk outside or visit a local market or garden and look for different foods that come from harvests—fruits, vegetables, grains, and more.

Encourage your child to collect or photograph some of the foods they see, and together create a small “Harvest Table” at home. You could arrange real fruits, vegetables, or grains, and even discuss ways to share food with family, friends, or neighbours.

This activity helps children connect with the sources of their food, appreciate the work that goes into growing it, and understand that every child has the right to enough food and a good standard of living.

20th Oct- 31st Oct- Half Term

We have an abundance of events that take place at school, to see the overview for the year please click on the link below: Term Dates & Calendar | KAPS Leicester

Could you help out at school ?

We are always on the lookout for parents who could support the school and give up some of their time. We really appreciate the extra support to be able to offer our children new opportunities. Whatever time you can offer it all counts.

 We are currently looking for:

Parents who would be able to support once a month on a Friday with our uniform swap from 2.30 - 2.55pm.

Parents who are interested in running an after-school chess club from January 2026 to Easter 2026 this would be weekly. We already have 1 parent volunteer but could do with another to allow us to run the chess club for children in Y3-Y6. You just need a passion to play and teach chess to children.

Any parents who would be able to support breakfast club this is from 7.30 to 8am daily.

If you are interested and can support, please do contact Mrs DM at school on rebecca.dolby-molson@avanti.org.uk who will arrange for all the necessary checks to be completed.
