Head of Primary's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
We kindly ask for your support in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all our pupils, families, and neighbours during drop-off and pick-up times.
Recently, we have received a number of concerns regarding inconsiderate parking around the school from our neighbours. This includes parking on pavements, blocking driveways, stopping on zig-zag lines, and double parking. These actions not only cause inconvenience to local residents but, more importantly, create significant safety risks for our children.
We understand that mornings and afternoons can be busy times, and we appreciate the challenges this may bring. However, we ask that all parents and carers take extra care to park responsibly, allow sufficient time for their journey to school.
Good relationships with our neighbours are important, we ask parents to show the Avanti way when parking.
Many thanks for your support in this matter.
With best wishes,
Mrs Dolby- Molson
PTFA
Dear Parents,
CAN YOU HELP US ? WE NEED YOU !
KAPS Leicester is putting together a PTFA (parents, teachers and friends association) which we hope to start in the new academic year.
We envisage our PTFA as committed and valued support to our school community; helping to organise fun, spirited initiatives that reflect our school ethos and give back to our wonderful school. Funds raised will go directly back into the school to provide resources and further enhance learning for our children.
If you are interested in finding out more or joining the PTFA, an initial AGM will be held on the 10th June 2026 at 2.00pm at school.
We would love to see as many parents as possible who are interested in getting involved, whether on an ad hoc basis or in a more regular role. Whatever time you are able to give will be greatly valued.
There are a number of positions we need to make our PTFA successful, both lead and support roles, including Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, Vice-Chair, Vice-Treasurer and Communications Officer. These roles, along with other formalities, will be discussed further at the AGM. The location will be confirmed nearer the time.
Let’s get KAPS Leicester PTFA up and running!
Please use the school email (kapsleicester@avanti.org.uk) for any enquiries or speak to your year group parent champions for more information.
Magical Moments
Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Krishna Avanti is all about.
We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!
Reception | In Reception, we enjoyed learning about how to take care of our planet. | ![]() |
Year 1 | Year 1 enjoyed their art lesson shaping and moulding clay to create smooth pebbles. At the end of the lesson, they built a structure called an inuksuk using the pebbles. | ![]() |
Year 2 | Year 2 had a wonderful time celebrating Sports Day and getting involved in all the fun and engaging activities! | ![]() |
Year 3 | This half term, Year 3 travelled back in time to explore the fascinating world of the Roman Empire. The children learned who the Romans were, why they invaded Britain, and how Roman life changed Britain forever. Throughout the topic, the children explored Roman soldiers, battles, settlements, roads, baths and everyday life. They also investigated famous historical figures such as Julius Caesar and discovered the impact of the Roman invasion of Britain. | ![]() |
Year 4 | Year 4 have been working hard on using fronted adverbials in their writing. As part of this, they have been exploring a story from another culture, which has helped them think carefully about how to start sentences in interesting and varied ways. | ![]() |
Year 5 | Year 5 have really enjoyed our latest writing unit. We used please Mrs Butler as our inspiration to write our own complaint poems. Our budding poets wrote very clever and amusing poems using wordplay and performed them using super expression and intonation. Well done! | ![]() |
Year 6 | Year 6’s have enjoyed reading more of Oliver Twist, in English they have enjoyed 'freeze framing' parts of text during their Guided Reading sessions. | ![]() |
Celebrating KAPS
Year 1 Sea Life Centre trip

Year 1 had a fantastic time at the Sea Life Centre last week! The children were amazed to see so many different sea creatures. They loved learning interesting facts about the animals and asked thoughtful questions throughout the visit. It was wonderful to see their curiosity and excitement as they explored. We ended the trip with a lovely picnic in the warm sun!
Narsimha Chaturdasi Yagna
Today, Krishna Avanti became a single heartbeat, gathered in devotion for the sacred Narasimha Yagna.
Voices rose like a river of faith, each chant carrying warmth, hope, and light.
It was more than an event—it was a feeling, a memory, a blessing we’ll carry forward.

Worship
This week’s Worship felt especially meaningful as we welcomed our parents to join us in worship. Voices united, hearts open, and a beautiful sense of community filling the room as we all sang to our Sri Sri Krsna Balaram. It was a gentle reminder of how powerful it is when school and home come together in faith and togetherness.
Truly a moment to cherish!

Star of the week
Each week, we celebrate a pupil who truly embodies the values of the Avanti Way—whether it’s showing compassion, demonstrating self-discipline, striving for excellence, or fostering spiritual insight. This recognition is more than just good work—it's about living our values and inspiring others to do the same.
Well done to this week’s star for shining brightly and setting a wonderful example for us all!

Rights Respecting at Home: Article of the Week
At Krishna Avanti Primary School, we are committed to promoting and upholding the rights of every child. It is important that children understand their rights because it helps them to feel valued, safe, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Rights Respecting Article of the week:
Earth Day 2026 – Article 6 and 24
Earth Day takes place every year on April 22 to show support for the protection of the environment and our planet.
Why it matters:
Earth Day matters because it highlights the importance of protecting the environment so people—especially children—can live healthy and safe lives. It links to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, as Article 6 states that every child has the right to life and development, which can be harmed by environmental damage, and Article 24 says children have the right to good health, including clean water and a safe environment. This shows that caring for the Earth helps protect children’s rights and their future.
At home activity:
Take a look at the Earth Day website. Write an article for your school newsletter or create a video to ask as many families as possible to participate in Earth Day 2023. Explain why this is important and how this links to children’s rights and your work as a Rights Respecting School.
