Parent's Bulletin 29th August 2025

Head of Primary's Message

Welcome back!

 Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you have all enjoyed a restful and refreshing summer break. We are delighted to welcome you and your children back for the new school year, and extend a special welcome to the new families joining our community. We’re looking forward to a term filled with learning, growth, and exciting opportunities for all our pupils.

We are pleased to share a special event for our new Reception pupils. On Monday, 1st September, from 1:30pm to 2:30pm, we will be holding a Yagna (fire ceremony) in the Courtyard to mark the beginning of their spiritual and educational journey at Krishna Avanti

This sacred Vedic ceremony, known as Vidyarambham, symbolises an auspicious start to school life, offering blessings and positive energy as the children begin their time at Krishna Avanti. As part of the ritual, each child will take part in marking and writing their name with rice, a beautiful tradition representing the beginning of their learning journey.

We warmly invite Reception parents to attend this special occasion and join us in celebrating this important milestone with your child.

We can’t wait to see all the children back in school, ready for a joyful and inspiring year ahead.

Warm regards,

 Ms Thakore

Magical Moments

Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Krishna Avanti is all about.

We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!

Reception : EYFS have settled in extremely well, we are very proud of each and every child for showing resilience and perseverance throughout their school day.

Year 1 : This week in Art, children have been exploring using oil pastels to mark makes on various textured surfaces. We used a range of vocabulary to describe the surfaces such as smooth and rough.

ree

Year 2 : The children have kick started year 2 consolidating their learning on identifying and making a range of two-digit numbers using a variety of manipulatives in maths. We can’t wait to see how these budding mathematicians bloom throughout the year.

ree

Year 3 : have been working on mark making in Art. As well as making various patterns using pencil, they’ve also used paint to explore how they can change their tone.

ree

Year 4 : have been learning about children’s rights through UNICEF’s Rights of the Child. They discussed which rights are most important in school and worked together to create a class charter. This helped them understand their responsibilities, develop teamwork skills, and show respect for everyone’s rights.

Year 5 : children have had a great start to the new school year! Both classes are setting in well into their new routines, classrooms and staff expectations. It has been lovely to see the children demonstrating their teamwork, creativity and positive attitudes towards their learning over the first few days both in the classroom, outside and in their yoga and archery sessions too.

ree

Year 6 :The children enjoyed an engaging archery session this week, practicing proper technique and aiming skills under careful guidance. The activity encouraged focus, confidence, and peer support, while providing a safe and structured environment for trying something new.

Star of the week

Each week, we celebrate a pupil who truly embodies the values of the Avanti Way—whether it’s showing compassion, demonstrating self-discipline, striving for excellence, or fostering spiritual insight. This recognition is more than just good work—it's about living our values and inspiring others to do the same.

Well done to this week’s star for shining brightly and setting a wonderful example for us all!

Rights Respecting at Home: Article of the Week

At Krishna Avanti Primary School, we are committed to promoting and upholding the rights of every child. It is important that children understand their rights because it helps them to feel valued, safe, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Here is a link to the Rights of the Child: UN0332751.pdf

Starting next week, we will be sharing an ‘Article of the Week’. Each article will highlight a specific right and will include simple activities you can do with your child at home to explore and reflect on it together.

By working in partnership with families, we can help our pupils to not only know their rights but also respect the rights of others, fostering a culture of kindness, respect, and responsibility within our community.
