Parent's Bulletin 13.03.2026

Head of Primary's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

At Krishna Avanti, we are proud to celebrate festivals that reflect our shared values. Holi, the Hindu festival of colours, marks the arrival of spring and symbolises joy, new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil. It is a celebration of unity and community, where people come together in happiness and mutual respect — values that closely reflect The Avanti Way.

Further details will be shared in next week's bulletin.

We look forward to celebrating together and creating a vibrant, joyful afternoon for the children.

After school clubs

We are delighted to be able to offer a wide and varied range of after school clubs next term. We are trialling some new clubs for our children. If these clubs are popular then we will look to run them again. We are also trialling running some clubs for specific year groups.

Thank you to our staff and parent volunteers for supporting these clubs and enabling us to offer such a mix.

The clubs will open to book on Arbor today after 5:00pm.  Please book early.

Warm regards,

Mrs Dolby- Molson

Magical Moments

Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Krishna Avanti is all about.

We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!

Reception

Reception children had fun planting cress seeds today. They are looking forward to caring for them and watching them grow!

Year 1

Our Year 1 children came into school dressed as their favourite story characters. They were excited to meet author Laura Jeffcote, who wrote Spider Hair. During the visit, the children listened to the story and then enjoyed a creative activity where they designed their own “spider hair” using a variety of materials.

Year 2

Photos from Gaura Purnima last week, year 2 children loved dressing up and immersing them in worship as well as activities based on Chaitanya and Nityanada for the day.

Year 3

On Wednesday, Year 3’s went on a trip to ThinkTank. They attended a workshop and learnt about lights, which is their topic in Science next term. Also, they visited various sections within the museum and learnt about the body and about other scientific topics. To end the day, they went to a Science Garden and participated in fun science related activities!

Year 4

For Spanish Language Day, Year 4 learned about the Spanish-speaking country Paraguay. They explored Paraguayan polka, a lively style of music and made their own maracas and drums using everyday materials.

Year 5

Thank you to parents who attended our stay and read . The children loved having time to read with their adults. We were also excited to find out what our mystery books were.

Year 6

Year 6 enjoyed a lovely afternoon learning about their chosen Spanish-speaking country, Costa Rica, and created beautiful postcards inspired by its culture, landscapes, and wildlife.

A uniform reminder

As we approach the warmer weather, please remember that as part of our School Uniform Policy that all children must wear the school uniform. It sets a good tone and standard in addition to identifying the school and promoting our uniqueness.

If your child has had a growth spurt and you need to swap a jumper- please come into reception and we will see if we can support a swap for a larger size- this depends on donations.

If you have any spare uniform that your child has grown out of and it is in good clean condition- please bring it to the office.

 Enrichment Experiences – £15.00 Contribution

We have planned a number of special enrichment experiences for the children this year:  visits to the temple and a fun-filled pantomime experience, archery sessions, PSHE workshops from Coram scarf and further events. These opportunities are designed to broaden the children’s understanding of the world around them, spark curiosity, and, of course, create some wonderful memories along the way.

To help cover transport, and activity costs, we kindly ask for a £15.00 donation per child for the year. Your support makes it possible for us to offer these meaningful and exciting experiences, and we are always so grateful for the generosity of our families.

The payments will be open on Arbor from  23rd January at 4.00pm  to the  20th March 4:00pm.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership. If you have any questions or would like to discuss this further, please don’t hesitate to speak to a member of the team. We’re really looking forward to sharing these special days with the children.

Without the donations we may need to scale back what we can offer to our children.

Star of the week

Each week, we celebrate a pupil who truly embodies the values of the Avanti Way—whether it’s showing compassion, demonstrating self-discipline, striving for excellence, or fostering spiritual insight. This recognition is more than just good work—it's about living our values and inspiring others to do the same.

Well done to this week’s star for shining brightly and setting a wonderful example for us all!

Rights Respecting at Home: Article of the Week

At Krishna Avanti Primary School, we are committed to promoting and upholding the rights of every child. It is important that children understand their rights because it helps them to feel valued, safe, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Rights Respecting School information

Rights Respecting Article of the week:  💧 World Water Day – Articles 24 & 27

Every child has the right to clean water, good health, and a safe standard of living. Access to clean water is essential for health, hygiene, and wellbeing.

World Water Day reminds us that many people around the world still do not have access to safe drinking water.

Why it matters:

  • Clean water keeps us healthy

  • Water is essential for everyday life

  • We all share responsibility for protecting resources

At-home activity:

Talk about how water is used at home and ways to save it. Children could make a poster showing simple actions such as turning off taps or using water wisely.
