Head of Primary's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

I would like to start by congratulating our Year 1 children on completing their Phonics Screening Check this week. It was wonderful to see all the children approach this reading task with such confidence and positivity and showing off their Phonics’ knowledge.

Next week, we will be celebrating all things scientific in our Science Week. Throughout the week, the children will be taking part in some fun, hands-on science activities, exploring, experimenting, and discovering together. This exciting week of curiosity and learning will include a special dress-up day on Wednesday 17th June, where children are invited to come dressed as a scientist, inventor, or anything science-related.

Once again, thank you for your continued support with your child or children’s learning. It is going to be an exciting and busy final few weeks as this academic year draws to a close and as always, we are committed to providing many learning opportunities and experiences for the children.

 Warm regards,

Mrs. Dolby - Molson

Magical Moments

Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Krishna Avanti is all about.

We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!

📚 Exciting Library Update!

We are delighted to share that our school library has undergone a wonderful transformation and is now open for pupils to enjoy!

Over the past week, staff and a team of enthusiastic Year 6 pupils have worked incredibly hard to organise books, create inviting reading spaces and refresh the library environment. We would like to extend a special thank you to our Year 6 volunteers for their dedication and hard work to bring this beautiful space to life.

We are excited to see pupils making use of the library, discovering new books and developing a lifelong love of reading. Please encourage your child to talk to you about the books they are borrowing and enjoying at school.

We look forward to sharing more updates as the project continues to develop!

🎶 Avanti Sings 2026 – A Truly Memorable Experience

On Tuesday 9th June, our Year 6 pupils travelled to the iconic Roundhouse in Camden to take part in Avanti Sings, a trust-wide musical celebration bringing together six hundred pupils from Avanti schools across the country.

The event was nothing short of spectacular. After months of rehearsals, our pupils took to the stage with confidence and enthusiasm, performing alongside their peers as part of a mass choir. The atmosphere throughout the day was electric, with pupils experiencing the excitement of performing in a world-class venue and being part of something much bigger than themselves.

We were incredibly proud of the way our Year 6 pupils represented Krishna Avanti. They demonstrated exemplary behaviour, supported one another throughout the day and sang with real joy and commitment. Their confidence grew with every rehearsal, and it was wonderful to see them embrace the opportunity so wholeheartedly.

One of the most powerful aspects of the event was seeing pupils from across the Avanti family come together through music. The sense of community, belonging and shared purpose was truly special and reflected many of the values we strive to develop in our children every day.

A huge thank you to all of the staff who supported the event, and congratulations to our amazing Year 6 pupils for making us so proud!

Message from Children's Commissioner England

Children’s Commissioner would like to conduct national survey to capture student views. Students are encouraged to take part in national survey. Please see below link.

The more pupils who participate from school, the more accurately their experiences, views and aspirations will be reflected in the national picture that will help shape future policy.

At a time of significant change for children and young people, it is more important than ever that their views are reflected in policymaking. Through this survey, they can take the voices of  students directly to the centre of government.

Student champions who generate particularly high levels of participation will receive a formal thank you from office of Children’s Commissioner for England to recognising their contribution to amplifying young people’s voices.

Schools and colleges with the highest response levels will be invited to attend final Festival of Childhood, celebrating the voices and contributions of children and young people from across England.

Star of the week

Each week, we celebrate a pupil who truly embodies the values of the Avanti Way—whether it’s showing compassion, demonstrating self-discipline, striving for excellence, or fostering spiritual insight. This recognition is more than just good work—it's about living our values and inspiring others to do the same.

Well done to this week’s star for shining brightly and setting a wonderful example for us all!

Rights Respecting at Home: Article of the Week

At Krishna Avanti Primary School, we are committed to promoting and upholding the rights of every child. It is important that children understand their rights because it helps them to feel valued, safe, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Rights Respecting Article of the week:

Article 13 – Freedom of Expression

Every child has the right to express their thoughts, ideas and feelings freely through speaking, writing, drawing or any other form of communication, as long as it does not harm others.

Why it matters: Article 13 helps children develop confidence and a sense of voice. When children are encouraged to share their ideas, they feel valued and respected. In school, this supports learning, creativity and positive relationships.

At home activity: Create a “My Voice Matters” piece. This could be a drawing, short story, poem or poster about something your child cares about (e.g. kindness, the environment, friendship). Encourage them to explain their ideas and why they are important.
