Executive Principal's Message
School Closure
Dear Parents & Guardians,
Due to the adverse weather conditions experienced overnight and early this morning, I made the decision to close both Avanti Fields School and Krishna Avanti Primary School.
This decision was taken following careful consideration of several factors, including early information shared by our lettings and premises teams last night, staff travel arrangements, and the availability of materials required to ensure the sites could be made safe for access, such as grit. In addition, both sites have experienced increased traffic in car parks and on surrounding roads throughout the week, which at times has created unsafe conditions.
I recognise that school closures are never an easy decision and can cause disruption for families. However, I felt it was important to communicate the closure as early as possible to allow families time to make alternative childcare arrangements and to minimise unnecessary travel in challenging conditions. This also enabled staff to use the morning productively to ensure learning resources were uploaded to TEAMS so that pupils’ learning could continue.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support. I am particularly mindful of the impact such decisions have on our working parents, and I am grateful for your cooperation as we prioritised the safety of our pupils, families, and staff.
Warm regards,
Ms. V Bardsley
Head of Primary's Message
Welcome Back to the Spring Term!
Dear Parents& Guardians,
We are delighted to welcome you and your children back to the Spring term! It has been a wonderful start to the new term, and the children have returned with such enthusiasm and energy—it truly sets a positive tone for the months ahead.
This Monday, we enjoyed a very special event: a performance of Jack and the Beanstalk. This was a fantastic opportunity for the children to experience a traditional story brought to life through singing, acting, and creativity. Moments like these not only enrich their learning but also help instil a love for the arts and storytelling.
As we begin this new term, we continue to live and learn through the Avanti Way, nurturing curiosity, respect, and joy in every aspect of school life. The start of a new term is a perfect time for fresh beginnings, growth, and new experiences. As Lord Krishna reminds us, “Whatever happened, happened for the good. Whatever is happening, is happening for the good. Whatever will happen, will also happen for the good.”
Staffing Updates
Mrs Rahmatullah will be leaving us this Friday. We thank her for her outstanding dedication and exceptional hard work over the past seven years. She will be missed by both the children and staff at our school; we wish her well in her new and exciting adventures.
Welcome to Year 5 – Mrs Asha Adams
We are delighted to welcome Mrs Asha Adams to our Year 5 team. She will be covering Ms Akhtar Hanif’s maternity leave.
Mrs Adams has settled into her new class exceptionally well and brings a calm, positive presence to the classroom. She is an excellent team player and consistently shows kindness and politeness in her interactions with the children and colleagues. We are confident that Year 5 will have a fantastic year of learning and growth with her guidance.
We look forward to a term filled with learning, discovery, and memorable moments for all our children. Thank you for your continued support in making our school a vibrant and nurturing community.
Warm regards,
Ms A Thakore
Magical Moments
Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Krishna Avanti is all about.
We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!
Reception | In Reception, the children have been learning all about dinosaurs, exploring their names, sizes and habitats through stories, play and creative activities.

Year 1 | Year 1 pupils have been learning to use dienes to support their understanding of numbers to 20. | ![]() |
Year 2 | Year 2 have been developing their vocabulary and looking at the language in Handa’s surprise to describe the exotic fruits. | ![]() |
Year 3 | For English, we are learning to write third person narrative using our Guided Reading book as inspiration. In one of our lessons, we used this image as a stimulus and explored what the characters might be seeing, feeling, hearing and smelling. We then created a bank of expanded noun phrases. | ![]() |
Year 4 | This week’s pantomime performance filled the hall with smiles, laughter and lots of imagination! | ![]() |
Year 5 | Year 5 have begun their exploration of Pulses in Music this week. They have named and explored using quavers, crochets, minims and rests to clap along to different types of music. During one song, each group was clapping along with different notes – it made for a really lovely and engaging learning session! | ![]() |
Year 6 | This week in English, Year 6 have started learning about the Empire Windrush. They are reading and discussing a real-life account from a passenger who travelled on the ship.

This recognition is more than just good work—it's about living our values and inspiring others to do the same.

Rights Respecting at Home: Article of the Week
At Krishna Avanti Primary School, we are committed to promoting and upholding the rights of every child. It is important that children understand their rights because it helps them to feel valued, safe, and empowered to reach their full potential.
Rights Respecting Article of the week:
💜 Rights Respecting Article of the week – Article 14: Freedom of Speech
Every child has the right to think and believe what they choose and also to practise their religion, as long as they are not stopping other people from enjoying their rights. Governments must respect the rights and responsibilities of parents to guide their child as they grow up. This links to Remembrance Day, when we honour those who have worked — and still work — to protect others and help make the world peaceful.
Why it matters:
Everyone has the freedom to think whatever they want
Everyone should be able to enjoy their rights
Different people have different beliefs
At-home activity: List as many religions as you can think of. Do you know what symbols are linked with these religions? Have a go at drawing them if you can and perhaps create a display for your classroom or corridor over the weekend.
