Head of Primary's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
Late collection from school in an afternoon
We recognise there may be occasions when parents are late collecting their child at the end of the day due to family emergencies, traffic or work commitments. We are committed to showing the Avanti Way to support parents. Recently we have reflected some of our communication around our late collection policy is not clear, therefore please find the enclosed, which we hope will support all families.
If you are going to be late collecting your child after 2.45pm please do email and or call the office. Please let them know your expected time of arrival. This is so we can get a message to the class teacher so they can reassure your child and support them to know you are on the way. Our office staff finish at 3pm, so please email and call as close to 2.30pm as you can. This will enable staff to get the message to the teacher in good time.
If your expected time of arrival is going to be after 2.55pm, then we will place your child in Avanti club for that night till 3.45pm. This is to give you time to get to school safely knowing your child is being cared for. It also provides your child with reassurance and a fun time whilst they wait. There will be no charge for the 1st time this happens as we would wish to support families.
Please note we are not able to collect your children from 2.55pm to 3.45pm as we do not have the staff and whilst the club is running and it disturbs the activities.
If families are persistently late collecting children after 2.55pm, then your child will be placed in Avanti club, and we will charge £3.00. Again, we will not be able to collect your child before the club ends at 3.45pm.
Warm regards,
Mrs Dolby- Molson
Magical Moments
Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Krishna Avanti is all about.
We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!
Great Book Swap
To support our focus on Reading at Krishna Avanti Primary School, the School Council will be holding a ‘Great Book Swap’ this term.
What do you need to do?
Monday 16th-Friday 20th March - Bring a book into school which you no longer read. (It must be in nice condition, please). The school council will collect the books at the gate first thing in the morning, every day that week. You will be given a raffle ticket in return which you can then use to swap for a book on Tuesday 24th March.
If you go to Breakfast Club, you will be able to have the opportunity to change your book for a raffle ticket whilst you are there.
Tuesday 24th March
At lunchtime on this day, you will be able to bring your raffle ticket into school and join in with the KAPS Great Book Swap which will be held at lunchtime in the Sports Hall. You will then swap your raffle ticket for a book, ready for the holidays!

A uniform reminder

As we approach the warmer weather, please remember that as part of our School Uniform Policy that all children must wear the school uniform. It sets a good tone and standard in addition to identifying the school and promoting our uniqueness.
If your child has had a growth spurt and you need to swap a jumper- please come into reception and we will see if we can support a swap for a larger size- this depends on donations.
If you have any spare uniform that your child has grown out of and it is in good clean condition- please bring it to the office.
Enrichment Experiences – £15.00 Contribution
We have planned a number of special enrichment experiences for the children this year: visits to the temple and a fun-filled pantomime experience, archery sessions, PSHE workshops from Coram scarf and further events. These opportunities are designed to broaden the children’s understanding of the world around them, spark curiosity, and, of course, create some wonderful memories along the way.
To help cover transport, and activity costs, we kindly ask for a £15.00 donation per child for the year. Your support makes it possible for us to offer these meaningful and exciting experiences, and we are always so grateful for the generosity of our families.
The payments will be open on Arbor from 23rd January at 4.00pm to the 20th March 4:00pm.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership. If you have any questions or would like to discuss this further, please don’t hesitate to speak to a member of the team. We’re really looking forward to sharing these special days with the children.
Without the donations we may need to scale back what we can offer to our children.
Star of the week
Each week, we celebrate a pupil who truly embodies the values of the Avanti Way—whether it’s showing compassion, demonstrating self-discipline, striving for excellence, or fostering spiritual insight. This recognition is more than just good work—it's about living our values and inspiring others to do the same.
Well done to this week’s star for shining brightly and setting a wonderful example for us all!
