Head of Primary's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
We are looking to introduce Parent Champions from year group ( Y2,Y4,Y5) and would love to hear from any parents or carers who may be willing to help support our school community.
A Parent Champion would:
Help support class or school events when needed- this might be attending open mornings to support prospective parents.
Act as a point of contact for parents in the year group (for example, if someone has a quick question or needs to pass on a message) ie what time the children are returning from a school trip if after school hours
Help share key messages by posting updates or reminders in the class WhatsApp parent group ie Y4 have a work sharing event today
Belong to a school forum
This role is not intended to be time-consuming. The aim is simply to improve communication, build our parent community, and ensure parents have a reliable contact if needed.
If you are interested, or would like more information before deciding, please reply to this email and let us know. Your support would be greatly appreciated and would make a real difference to our school events and parent communication. Please email Mrs Dolby-Molson at rebecca.dolby-molson@avanti.org.uk for further information.
Thank you for your continued support.
Warm regards,
Ms A Thakore
Key Updates :
The school has reviewed our invacuation and lockdown procedures and will be working to update our sounding system in the next few weeks. We have shared our current invacuation and lockdown procedures with staff today. Next week, we will be asking all staff to remind pupils of the procedure. Please do not be concerned if your child comes home next week sharing that they were in a ‘lockdown’.
Thank you for your continued support.
Magical Moments
Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Krishna Avanti is all about.
We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!
🔢 We Are Mathematicians Week – February 2026
We are excited to be celebrating We Are Mathematicians Week in school, filled with fun, engaging activities that inspire a love of numbers and problem-solving.
The week will begin with a launch assembly, followed by competitions and creative dress-up activities to bring maths to life.
Parents and carers are warmly invited to join our “Stay and Count” sessions, where you can spend time in class taking part in maths activities with your child:
2nd February– Reception & Y3 Stay and count 1:50 -2:20pm
3rd February- Y1 & Y4 stay and count 1:50 – 2:20pm
4th February– Y2 Stay and count 1:50pm- 2:20pm
5th February– Y5 Stay and count 1:50pm – 2:20pm
6th February- Dress up – NSPCC number day
6th February– Y6 stay and count 1:50 – 2:20pm
The week will end with NSPCC Number Day on 6th February, when children are invited to come to school dressed as rock stars with a number or mathematical theme. This year, we are combining the Times Table Rock Stars theme with Number Day — so let the creativity begin!
We kindly ask each child to bring £1 as a donation to support the NSPCC on this day.
We look forward to a fantastic week of maths fun and learning!
Enrichment Experiences – £15.00 Contribution
We have planned a number of special enrichment experiences for the children this year: visits to the temple and a fun-filled pantomime experience, archery sessions, PSHE workshops from Coram scarf and further events. These opportunities are designed to broaden the children’s understanding of the world around them, spark curiosity, and, of course, create some wonderful memories along the way.
To help cover transport, and activity costs, we kindly ask for a £15.00 donation per child for the year. Your support makes it possible for us to offer these meaningful and exciting experiences, and we are always so grateful for the generosity of our families.
The payments will be open on Arbor from 23rd January at 4.00pm to the 20th March 4:00pm.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership. If you have any questions or would like to discuss this further, please don’t hesitate to speak to a member of the team. We’re really looking forward to sharing these special days with the children.
Without the donations we may need to scale back what we can offer to our children.

Chess club: More spaces available
We are delighted that our chess club has been so popular this term. We are able to open up another 10 places for children to attend. This will be from Friday 27th February to Friday 27th March. If your child would like to join, then please book a place via ARBOR.
Please Note: Sign up will be open via Arbor from 2nd February 16:00 onwards.
Thank you to our volunteers for the support and dedication they show to our children
Star of the week
Each week, we celebrate a pupil who truly embodies the values of the Avanti Way—whether it’s showing compassion, demonstrating self-discipline, striving for excellence, or fostering spiritual insight. This recognition is more than just good work—it's about living our values and inspiring others to do the same.
Well done to this week’s star for shining brightly and setting a wonderful example for us all!

Rights Respecting at Home: Article of the Week
At Krishna Avanti Primary School, we are committed to promoting and upholding the rights of every child. It is important that children understand their rights because it helps them to feel valued, safe, and empowered to reach their full potential.
🌍Rights Respecting Article of the week: Holocaust Memorial Day - Articles 2, 19, 37 and 38
On the 27th of January, we remember the six million Jewish people who were killed during the Holocaust, alongside millions of other people who were killed under Nazi persecution and in genocides that followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur. Each year across the UK, thousands of people come together to learn more about the past and take action to create a safer future. We know they learn more, empathise more and do more.
At-home activity: What makes you different from other people in your family and from your friends? What’s good about being different? Draw a picture of yourself with the title ONLY ONE ME.

Reminders:
Children's Personal belongings - Name labelled
We would like to remind all families of the importance of clearly naming children’s personal belongings, including shoes, coats, and other items brought into school.
Labelling items helps us to quickly and accurately return belongings to their owners and reduces the likelihood of items being misplaced or taken home in error. We kindly ask that names are clearly visible and kept up to date, particularly on footwear and uniform items that may look similar.
Thank you for your support in helping us keep children’s belongings safe and organised.
Breakfast club arrival times:
Dear Parents and Carers,
We would like to kindly remind families of the arrival times for Breakfast Club to help ensure the safety and smooth running of the morning session.
Breakfast club entry is between 7.30 and 7.35am.
This timing is important for health and safety procedures so we can maintain an accurate register and ensuring we are fully prepared for emergency procedures if ever required.
If you arrive after 7.35am, we kindly ask you take your child to the main gates and wait till these open at 7.40am.
Thank you very much for your understanding, cooperation, and continued support in helping us keep all children safe and well each morning
