Parent's Bulletin 25 .09.2026
Head of Primary's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
I would like to personally thank you for the wonderful support you continue to show our school. As Head of Primary , I truly value the strong partnership we have with our families, as we know that when home and school work together, our children thrive.
Thank you to those parents who kindly volunteer to support with breakfast club, chess club and on school trips- your support is invaluable in ensuring our children have rich and diverse opportunities across all aspects of school life.
The fantastic attendance at our recent EYFS phonics lesson and our Year 1 Phonics lesson reflects the commitment you have to your child's learning. It was wonderful to see so many of you giving your time to learn more about how you can support your child at home. These events have been so popular we have added in some more dates to allow others to join the learning and be better placed to support at home.
At the bottom of the newsletter, you will find lots of opportunities to join in with school life and learning this term.
All these opportunities to join learning will be bookable on ARBOR under trips. Look out for the letters.
We do hope you can join us.
I look forward to seeing everyone over the coming weeks at both parents evening and the Diwali performances.
Thank you once again for your continued support and partnership.
With best wishes
Mrs. Dolby - Molson
Important Reminder : Secondary School Admissions
Current Y6 parents
If your child is due to start at secondary school from August 2027, it's time to apply for a secondary school place. Applications can be made online at School admissions | Leicester City Council and will need to be submitted by no later than 31 October 2026. If you apply after this date, your application will be considered as late, and you may lose out on your choice of school.
Please take the time to read the information provided on the admissions website as you can find details of all schools along with other important information including your catchment school.
You may prefer for your child to attend a school outside of your catchment area and you have the right to list any secondary schools on your application. However, we strongly recommend that you use all four preferences available to you and include your catchment area school in your application. You will receive priority for a place there and it means that you increase your chances of securing a place at a local school if all of your higher preferred schools are full.
Magical Moments
Every two weeks, we take time to celebrate the Magical Moments happening across our school — those special sparks of curiosity, creativity, and deep learning that make each day meaningful. Whether it’s a breakthrough in understanding, a beautifully presented piece of work, or a moment of teamwork and joy, these snapshots capture the best of what learning at Krishna Avanti is all about.
We’re proud to share and celebrate these moments with our school community!

Year 5 |
Year 5 have been exploring our core text ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ recently. Our focus is to write a synopsis using present tense verbs. Here are some examples of our short writes focusing on this skill. | ![]() |
Year 6 | Our talented Year 6 writers have completed their first piece of writing – a diary entry based on the Windrush passengers’ experiences. The children have been exploring writing in different tenses and showing thoughts and feelings through actions.
