Year 4 - Comets & Planets

Welcome to Year 4!

Comets and Planets.

Links between home and school, alongside a positive working relationship between staff and families, can make a hugely positive impact on your child’s progress.

Please work with us to give your child the very best start in life.

The two Year 4 teachers for the 2015-2016 academic year are:

  • Mrs Nagar (Planets)
  • Mrs Kaur (Comets)

We will be having a maths week commencing on 27th March, we would like the children to create and perform a rap or poem about maths. Please start to prepare and practise this at home.

Homework

Homework will be uploaded to this page each Friday and is to be handed in by the following Wednesday for it to be marked.

Homework is an important part of school life but it should not be taking over life out of school!

At Krishna Avanti Primary School we expect the children to come to school and work hard. As long as they do that they should be able to go home and do a little homework each week (up to one hour) and enjoy being a child – playing and learning other things through play! Some children do of course really enjoy writing and doing mathematics and other ‘academic’ things and in these instances, they may wish to spend hours and hours studying and doing homework.

If your child has worked hard at school, any homework given that takes more than one hour may be left (if you so wish). In addition to the homework, children will have spellings to learn, books to read and times-tables to learn.

Spring 2nd Half Term - Homework

Spellings

Year 4 children will be tested on their spellings weekly.  Please help your child learn them.  Attached is a list of the spellings which they will be tested on this half term.

Reading

Your child will be given up to two reading books which will be changed once a week. Please ensure that your child's reading record is signed in order for their books to be changed.  Reading books need to be brought in to school everyday!

All classes will need their indoor P.E. kit each week for yoga. Children may keep their indoor P.E kits at school throughout the school term.

Please make yourself familiar with the school Physical Education Policy.
